The "Original"
Its been almost 10 years since I made my first table and it feels like it was yesterday. I was walking thru some commonly known home furnishing stores... Potterybarn, West elm, and others to remain nameless, and I saw a table that caught my eye. Long story short, at 24 years old, I did not have even close the budget for the $1600 price tag which bought you glued beams of various Brazilian woods, wrapped with Mahogany legs. Yes, Nice!, but even better was the priceless moment that pushed me to do what I had wanted for years.. to design and build furniture!
The tables in the picture were featured at the Bendheim Gallery, Greenwich ,CT in May of 2013 at my solo exhibit "reclAimed peRspecTive". A special set of 4 (a coffee table, 2 end tables and taller console table) have since found a home in NYC.
