7 Days of Black & White
We all have had to work within limits before, self inflicted or not, and for various reasons. I generally don't pre-plan much before starting a painting but for this project I gave myself a boundary for a week to see what would happen if i limited my color options. Black and White. What could be simpler right? Well, I quickly realized that I would need more of a plan than usual if i didn't just want a gray canvas at the end of each day. Because of the color, I approached each day with a different technique. I used a brush to paint one day, a mini hard canvas the next, and a "pouring" technique the next. It was fun, enlightening, and created more awareness that will help in making decisions on future projects.
